Pastor Johnson is a native of Virginia and has been in the ministry since 1970. Pastor Johnson began his ministerial studies at Lynchburg Baptist College, now Liberty University. He later transferred to Hyles-Anderson Bible College where he attended for a year and a half before having to return home and help care for a parent who was ill. While back home, he became engaged and married his wife, Diane in 1975. Soon thereafter, they left for Maine and began Lifegate Baptist Church just outside of Portland, where they served for over a year. They have pastored churches in Florida, Alabama, West Virginia and now Virginia. Pastor Johnson completed and received his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida while living there.

Pastor Johnson accepted the call to resume the pastorate here at Crossroads Baptist Church in Fishersville, Virginia in September, 1990. He has watched God grow the church from 35 people to presently around 400 people and still growing. Anyone who knows Pastor Johnson will tell you that his heartbeat is winning souls and discipling new Christians. Crossroads Baptist is a very "family oriented" church that tries to minister to the entire family. Spiritually strong families make up spiritually strong churches!

He has been married for 32 years and is the proud father of 3 children, Leah, Jeremy and Lydia, who all have been a very integral part of this ministry since coming here.
